Apple seeds

Filed In Design Photography Tech Apple

Not much happens in my little town, at least that was the case until Apple started building their new server farm just a few miles down the road from our house. In fact it’s so close we could smell the fire burning at the 120+ acre site this weekend as the workers clear-cut the area into the night.

I am giving myself a new project to photograph the area as the site takes shape, partly because I am curious about what the big boys are up to and partly because I’ve always been fascinated with the changing of landscape by human power. I know it doesn’t look like much now, but hopefully as the months go by it will be an interesting photo transition.

I’m not sure how successful I’ll be though. Within 30 seconds of taking this (not so great) photo, I was approached by the project safety director and politely questioned. My cute looks, dumb stares and southern-polish accent worked – this time. We’ll see how long I can pull it off.
