Winkbox recently designed a logo for the Lincolnton Art Stroll. Even though we only had one week to develop the logo, and we worked on pro-bono basis, the result will most likely end up in our portfolio (if we ever find the time to update it).

The logo is a paint splash mixed with more refined lines. To contrast the organic forms we chose Scala Sans as the typeface. The hard, straight lines of Scala Sans not only complement the organic forms but are also very readable. The color pallet is interchangeable, giving it some life and allowing for change with seasons or themes of the show. We also felt giving the organizers some ownership of the logo will let them feel more connected to it.

The Lincolnton Art Stroll will take place on January 23, 2009 from 5:30 to 9:30PM and will feature the artwork of 70+ artists in 15 downtown storefronts-turned-art galleries.

The free event will feature original paintings, pottery, fine art photography, woodturning, and sculpture. Maps to guide strollers through the galleries will be provided, and refreshments and live music will be available in select locations.

I will also be displaying my latest body of personal artwork at The Downtown Development Association of Lincolnton located at 114 E. Main Street, stop by and say hi!
